Catherine Distelrath – Manager
Catherine joined the CAM in January 2017 as the CAM Manager. She helps to guide the overall direction of the CAM and oversees daily operations of CAM staff, in close coordination with CAM partner.
Paige has worked within Detroit’s CoC since 2012. She is responsible for operation of the CAM Access Points and the management of its staff. Paige is a historian at heart and enjoys ancestral research when not at work or with family.
Ed Cieslak – Site Coordinator
Ed joined the CAM staff in May 2015. He is a part of the CAM External Intake team and his position consists of going to shelters to complete HCV, full SPDAT assessments, and assisting clients with other needs as necessary.
Emily Baughman – Intake Specialist
Emily entered her role in September 2017. As an intake specialist, Emily tracks and reports data and analyze system and process efficiency. She is a devoted foodie and enjoys culinary adventures in Detroit.
Brian is an intake specialist of the CAM external team. He completes client intakes, assessments and referrals. Brian enjoys reading and listening to music.
Carmen Elam – Intake Specialist
Carmen entered her role in April 2017; as a specialist she provides shelter placement and other resources to homeless individuals and families within the community. She is committed to being a beacon of light and giving a voice to the voiceless. In her spare time, Carmen loves traveling VIP style with her travel club.
Kelsey joined the CAM team in July 2018. In an effort to end homelessness, her role as an Intake Specialist is to assist those at risk of or experiencing homelessness in Wayne County area through advocacy and resource navigation. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys advocating for social justice, adventuring, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
Lauren joined the team in the beginning of 2018. She is responsible for maintaining PSH Prioritization List, auditing PSH packets, updating the Chronic by Name List, and assisting to streamline CAM processes. She has been working in homeless services for three years. In her spare time you can find her reading a book or riding her bicycle.
Terrence Nunn – Intake Specialist
Since joining in 2013, Terrence has held various roles within the CAM from Case Manager to External Intake. His current duties consist of completing Full SPDAT assessments, HCV applications, and assisting clients with other needs as necessary.
Ashante` entered her role as an intake specialist in January 2018. She has made it a priority to provide shelter resources to the community and use her position to advocate for the homeless of Wayne County. She enjoys gardening and camping in the summer.
Malaika Williams – Intake Specialist
Malaika is responsible for entering and managing homeless application in the HMIS system. She works closely with shelters to provide them with homeless dispositions. President Obama spoke at her undergraduate ceremony.
Community and Home Supports, Inc.
John Stoyka – Director of Housing Programs
In his role, John provides management coordination of housing programs within Community and Home Supports. John is an United States Army veteran. He received his Bachelors in Urban Studies and Economics from University of Washington and an Masters of Urban Planning from Wayne State University.
Matthew Niemi – Quality Control Manager
Matthew manages the CHS resource navigators, who operate to assist consumers assessed by the CAM in obtaining documentation necessary for entry into different COC programs. During the summer, he enjoys fishing.
Hannah serves as a Resource Navigator with Community & Home Supports, Inc., and joined the team back in September 2018. Her day to day includes performing assessments on clients, completing intakes, and aiding clients in collecting crucial documents for Permanent Supportive Housing. Hannah loves the happy hours that Detroit offers and plans monthly work outings for her fellow staff members.
Carolyn joined the CAM staff in August 2017. She visits shelters to meet with clients, assess their needs, identify goals, and make plans to connect clients to appropriate housing resources. She enjoys yoga, gardening, and being outside in her spare time.
Lauren joined the CHS team February 2017. Lauren was a Resource Navigator for about a year and then transitioned into the Data Analyst role. She helps collect, organize and evaluate data and performance for the agency. She loves adventuring outdoors, rummaging for used vinyl records and spending time with her fiance and fur babies!
